    SS-BW Code Number(s)

    Hello All,

I have a set of SS panzer trousers with the code: SS-BW-0-356-0042. This differs from the code shown in Robin Lumsden's 'A Collector's Guide to: The Waffen-SS' on page 70 (SS-BW-0-0453-0058). Any ideas on where these were manufactured and by which firm?

    Thanks,

    Mike

SS Bekleidungs Werk were in a few different concentration camps. I know Posen was one and I believe also Ravensbruck. There were others as well.

      Hi John,

Understood - just trying to see if the number presented was known. If I remember correctly, the one in Robin's book is for Dachau.

Yes the numbers are the code for which concentration camp it was manufactured in similar to RB#s. I am sure someone out there has the codes for which camps. I believe Ravensbruck items were marked BE TRA but probably used codes as well . Glenn
