W-SS Shoulder Strap on the E-Stand

Is it just me or does this strike you as an early private purchase Heer strap that has been dyed black?? I say Heer because I have never seen a W-SS strap utilizing the Luftwaffe, or early Heer salt/pepper tresse.

The thread holding the tresse on has a weird washed-out charcoal color as do the button hole threads.

    exactly
Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

Here's an original set of Waffen-SS Oberscharführer shoulder straps with Luftwaffe style tresse.

However, I would agree that the strap on the e-stand is questionable, based on your observations, but it's not because of the tresse.

Thanks for posting those very nice straps! My comment wasn't so much about the tresse as it was the thread holding it on and overall appearance of the strap.

Like I said, nice straps you've got there!
