                    I've got the twin brother to this skull. I bought it in Germany when I was 16 years old in a little shop in downtown Trier near Karl Marx Strasse in 1983. It was aged so well I figured it had to be real. These threads ID it as a typical 5/8, but it took a magnifying glass to see it. Goes to show that the fakes have been around for awhile and there can be thousands of them by now.

                        The 5/8's in yellowy coated aluminium have been around in the UK since at least the mid 70's to my certain knowledge. They were sold (as reproductions) from Quartermaster at the Angel (Islington, London) via Exchange & Mart for £1 each and were matched with the 'Pigeon-head' fake eagle.
