Fake, and an obvious one at that. Our American cousins call this either the bowling pin or the coke-bottle fake I forget which.

The jacket with the SS Eagle and other insignia were bought from Derek's Militaria (DeMil on WAF) in Norway.
I hope Derek can do this right and give my friend a real SS EM Jacket and take back this crap jacket with all fake insignia. It was bought with good money as an original SS jacket with original insignina.

Yes, but I only collect coastal artillery, some medals, field equipment and holsters. But I also have a lot of other items; jackets, helmets, trouser shoes etc. No SS items left.
In a short time I'll sell my collection because I have bought a second house.

I have a dialog with the owner. I sold this jacket back in the early 1990`s. Many years ago before the inter-net. Before I learned about all the SS fakes on the market. Today I have written 2 books on the subject, SS insignias and the third book about SS uniforms will come in May 2011.
I do not want to come in a verbal fight with you here at WAF, as you began it on a Norwegian forum.
But all I can say is that most of my customers here in Norway will not buy from you, because of all the fakes you have sold up in the years. And you know this very well Harald.

This tread is made up for staring a new inside "war" we dont need.

You need to remember that the photo of the eagle and other fake components is all we had to go on .... and there's no excuse for most of these as they are really obvious.

I hope yo uread what Derek wrote in his tread in the middle ?

He was sellig this in a period of building knowledge. NO one is perfect in this world. We have to learn of other members and great books & build own experience & knowledge of the items you collect. IMO.

There is no need to start a tread like this because of intern "war" between two dealers in Norway.

Thats my two cents in this case.....
