Traps

Hi Johnny,

Here is a listing of traps & their cloth color. If you have an example all of these, I'd say you have a complete set.

1. Machine woven, two rows of teeth - field grey (green)
2. Machine woven, two rows of teeth - black
3. Machine woven, single row of teeth - field grey (green) BeVo Wuppertal
4. Machine woven, single row of teeth - black BeVo Wuppertal
5. Machine woven, single row of teeth - 2nd style - only found in
field grey (green) to my knowledge.
6. Machine embroidered, coarse wool - field grey (green)
7. Machine embroidered, coarse wool - black
8. Machine embroidered, wool - "Pirate" style - black - non have
surfaced in grey, to my knowledge.
9. Late war printed trap. - I've seen two originals - IMO.

There are many variations to 6 & 7 in terms of the look of the skull/eagle. I have also observed one in a very light grey - really looked more tan, which is in a very prominent collection.

All of these are faked and some are quite well done. If you would like to see pictures of originals or repros of them, let me know which one......
