    Auschwitz marked "Totenkopf" Studio Portrait....

I realize that this may not be the most appropriate section to post this, but I do hope that the Mods of this section will leave it here as I would like this to receive the widest exposure possible.

This photograph (along with various others) was sent by myself to Peter von Lukacs (Military Antiques of Stockholm) a few months ago but never arrived. Unfortunately, I have recently had more then my fair share of problems when it comes to the efficiency of postal systems, whether domestic or international.

If anyone comes across this photo, please contact myself or Peter von Lukacs directly. If by some miracle this photo does safely arrive in Peters hands, I will update this thread.

    Many Thankx..

Just a short note to let everyone know that Peter von Lukacs (Military Antiques of Stockholm) has finally received the Auschwitz photo in question.

*** Kudos to my country's quality postal service - after paying (stiffly) for a "Guaranteed" 4 day overseas Air Mail delivery, the package in which this photo was in finally reached its destination Ground Mail (i.e. by ship).

Still good news that this treasure wasn't lost to some retarded inbred thief in the postal service .... the number of things we eventually receive which have been opened and checked for valuables

Cheers to you, this is how honest people approach this issue of mail trouble.By putting it in the open.It lends credit to the deal, and also shows there are people who actually care about deals ending up good, even after they recieved their money.Unlike recent tomfoolery here.

Maybe the Post Office sent it by ship in the opposite direction around the globe.

I'm still waing for a $265 item from ebay after a month, so this gives me hope.

I am indeed pleased that this photo (and the others sent with it) actually did show up in Peter's hands and did not vanish down into the "Postal Pothole" as many of my items have in the (recent) past.

Don't want to start another Postal Bashing thread here, but the efficiency of the Federal Postal System in my country has been appalling over the last few years.....just recently another 410 Pound Postie in my hometown was found over Christamas with numerous bags of mail in his living quarters, some dating back 13 months. On top of having to read his pathetic excuses / lies in our local papers - my favorite being the "emotional distress" he experienced when his mother finally booted him out of her basement at 47 years of age - I'm sure the Post Office instantly promoted him and pleaded with him to gain even a few more pounds so he could continue to carry out his duties so incredibly loyally and efficiently.....
