    Swedish "TILL MINNE" Waffen-SS badge

    Fellow collectors,

I am seeking more information on below "TILL MINNE" badge.
(pls disregard the Romanian medal "Serviciu Credincios" in Silver.)

Apparently it was given out at the 2009 "Steiner" Korp. meeting and
was awarded to a Swedish member of the Waffen-SS. It's numbered "259."

Does anyone have further information about these pieces?

    I appreciate all comments!

    Thanks,
    Markus

    Hello,

I heard they where made as a badge for swedes who fought in Finland and for swedes who fought in the SS. That they would have been handed out at a Korps Steiner meeting in 2009 is new to me and I do not belive it to be true. As far as I know the last swedish SS-soldier of the III. Germn.SS-Pz-Korps was Elis Höglund who died a few years ago. Also I have never heard of one of them being given to a swede who fought in Finland, but maybe someone else can add info here.
These badges where made a bit to late to actually have been given to swedish SS-volounteers since most are dead, so I belive that the "given to SS-veterans" story is just to make them easier to sell. Still, they are quite nice and if you are interested in the swedish SS-volounteers and find one for a cheap price, I guess you could go for it.

They exist in 2 variations, one in silver and one in bronze. Both made in limited numbers. I belive I paid 150 sek for my bronze example.

Thanks for the input Lasse. This one supposedly connected to a volunteer at the Zitadelle in April/May 1945. Sounds too good to be true.

Asking price is EUR 25 for this piece.

      Cheers,
      Markus

        Hello,

Yes definitly sounds to good to be true. Does the seller give a name? The only swedes connected to the Zitadelle in 1945 that I can think of is Hans-Gösta Pehrsson, Ragnar Johansson, Erik Wallin or possibly Sten Eriksson (Who came there for questioning after his capture). They died in 1974, 1945, 1997 and around 2005 respectivly.

Supposedly from one of the members of the Führerbegleitkdo., but not my cup of tea. ...I prefer my "Mohnke" items....

Lasse, many thanks! A great help!

          Cheers,
          Markus
