"Tunic removed" or "Combat worn" items...

Gentlemen... I have for your consideration, this question.
Now, when I see or hear: "Tunic removed" or "Combat worn"
used in the description of cloth insignia items, I assume that it was
sewn on to the tunic during the war... and was actually worn in combat
and that appeals to me!
But what about insignia that was a Mint, unissued piece until just recently
and has been sewn to a restored tunic... and maybe even roughed-up
a little bit to look more salty. To me, that doesn't count as tunic removed.
Is there any way to tell the difference? Thanks!!

Nope...unless you pay attention to all the tunics and insignias circulating you might catch one or two.

Characteristics of real combat wear are difficult to replicate. As they say "The devil is in the details"

For me it isn´t Interessting if an item is tunicremoved or unworn.
The only thing what counts for me is original seewn to a tunic.
But i can only speak, of course, for me!

I notice the last years that ss uniform cut material has increased. Some years ago they were very rare to see, nowayays it looks like unused insignia have been sevn on cloth for selling faster. This is most armeaglea Dachau found type..
Anyone else notice this?

As a cuff off/used insignia collector, I agree. You see lots more than you used to.

The fakers have caught on. Artificial wear and age and many blankets are cut up and being sold as "tunic bits".

I also wrote in the a recent ss vt tunic fraud tread about how I react that most out of the woodwork tunic lacks one, several or all insignia.
The dealers rarely have any tunics SS, WH etc. lacking any insignia or shouldarboards.
Opinions?

well with the car dealers is the same story ,they rarely sale a car with a problem.

Another issue is original items used by reenactors. A lot of collectors would be shocked at the amount of original stuff that is still being used today. An example of this would be a friend of mine. In the 1970's he got an unissued tunic for reenacting with all of it's original insignia. He wore it for years and years putting a lot of good honest wear on it. Today this thing looks like it walked off the battlefield and is the kind of tunic if you saw at a show we would all go nuts for as original, untouched, salty and battle worn. Is it all original in regards to the insignia, yes. Is the wear on it wartime, no. My point is without the back story you'd never know it wasn't combat worn during the war, the same goes for original insignia that has been worn and used in the post war years.
