This guy committed political suicide the moment he joined a reenactor group.

Political correctness will label him a Nazi sympathizer as a re-enactor no matter what he state's his actual beliefs are. IMO: Anyone who'se into collecting Nazi regalia wouldn't fare any better in the political arena once that became public knowledge. The "mainstream news media" in this Country would have a field day with the story.

            Check The Facts

Looking at what information is available for Mr. Tim Spear, there is no mention of his being a re-enactor. Mr. Spear did take full responsibility for the image being posted.

The organization responsible for posting the image of the German soldiers on Mr. Spear’s campaign flier is Washington-based consulting firm; MSHC Partners. Account executive Mike Brown said “the firm's art department thought the photo captured Mr. Spear's message - but no one noticed it showed the wrong kind of troops”. Oops!

This is a political comercial wich is shown and not a reenactor.

As with just about all re-enactors they appear over fed as well.

You know, to many non military types our modern combat helmets look just like that from behind, with new style camo covers coming out all the time. I bet they thought this photo was modern American infantry.

When I went to the re-enactment at Fort Indiantown Gap in PA, the US re-enactors looked fantastic, they were about 17-25 and in great shape physically and their uniforms and gear looked outstanding...they looked as if out of wartime photos and they would look excellent in any film production, while the German re-enacters were in less than excellent health with many of the guys being older gentlemen and having a good amount of extra weight (not that I am one to speak) but I really was impressed with the US units.

The guys in the political ad look like rear echelon police troops and not first rate front line combat troops. They would never make it in the Wehrmacht.

The state of the church has always been a religious power influencing politics.

So just check out the Pope. He succeeded in the pinnacle appointment of religiously political platform and he was the real deal not just some reenactor. The hardend HJ were probably the most fanatically ardent idoctrinated beings. Anythings possible.

Would like to see some pictures of him in the day. He's the Man!
