    SS Stickpins Help Please

    Folks,
I bought these stickpins under the assumption that they were repro`s but after looking at some websites, I`m not so sure ( one of these pins is on a very well known dealers site for some good money). Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

          M,
Thanks. Like I said, I thought they were repro`s but after seeing them on several websites I started thinking that they might be real. I did buy them as repros so there was no money lost on the deal.

The 4 year service award is a crude casting of an original and is lacking in detail.

Who made the real pin marked with the "o".

I always thought the "o" was a marking location for attaching the pin.

                    Exactly my thoughts.

Concerning the SS-zivilabzeichen: not a single example without the proper reverse markings can be called genuine.

Is it not part of the casting process? ie. the point at which the casting was ejected from the mould

That's right. The "O" is not the maker mark but an ejector pin blemish that was made during the manufacture.
Part of it has been affected by the solder material.

These SS pins were only made by Hofstatter and Gahr.
