            Neuber Ring

Thanks for posting!! This presents an interesting scenario. I have given my honest assessment of the mint condition Hofmann ring. You now have the most excellent photos of an original SS Totenkopfring to compare it to. Therefore, a poll would be not only informative, but fun. POLL QUESTIONS:
            1. If the mint Hofmann ring and the Neuber ring were both for sale at the same price, which would you buy? 2. If the owner of the Neuber ring is listening, would you trade your ring for the mint Hofmann ring? 3. If the owner of the Hofmann ring is listening, would you trade your mint ring for the Neuber ring? NOTE: This poll is solely intended to solicit the knowledgable opinions of all the experts on the forum, many of whom own original totenkopfrings. No one knows EVERYTHING, not even me. If you're posting to defend the Hofmann ring, please be sure to include an explanation for the poorly executed borders, so we all can learn.

The ring posted by OU812 is a period original, though in-hand inspections always take me from the photographic 99% to the in-hand 100% opinion.

No matter how you put it:

a butchered fake still is a fake!

Try whatever you want to move them into the market - it won´t work.

                    Ring

PLEASE do not make a proclamation of originality without first addressing the legitimate concerns that were raised about the border. Until then, it looks like you have no explanation. This same Hofmann ring appeared back in August 2010 on a different world war forum, and is still there. Don't fret if you can't see the pic - it's the same ring, I assure you. - The guy who posted it said this: "Sorry, just this one picture. I believe this to be a REPRODUCTION. Am I right?" There were no replies.
