    SS metal skull opinions

    Hi
I got this skull with a group of legitimate stuff. It is marked M1/24. Most of thre finish is gone. Some finish is in the recesses. The pin is attached in a pocket and then material is folded over. Because of this method the missing pin could be replaced if needed. It has great detail.Let me know your opinions as I know nothing about this stuff. Thanks, Mitch

Chris, interesting you should say this is an original. Here's one that I've had for a while and I always believed it was fake. Looks very similar to Mitch's tho..what you think?

Ben, it is not that similar. Carefully compare each skull's features. The differences are very significant, and all such differences show that yours is not as carefully constructed.

Your skull looks good Mitch! Is the pin marked? This is an Overhoff
tk and sometimes the pins are also marked.

Ben, from the front yours looks like one of the more recent artificially
aged knock-offs that have been floating around lately. Does it have a
                diamond logo on the back?

                    Hi Ben!

I can't tell from that picture. Determining the authenticity of these by just seeing the front side alone, usually requires photographs of the very best of quality and accurate lighting, (so things appear as they really are).
Otherwise, you must show the reverse. The dark spots do cause me a good bit of concern, but anything is possible with poor photography.
Can you post a pic of the back side?

                    Best, Chris

Still cannot tell, but it looks very suspicious to me.
Are the pins soldered on top of their bases?
                        Need better pics.

                        Best, Chris
