            I know that Bill Shea had one for sale in his webshop some time ago. Gone know.

            Any experienced collectors out there?

            It came with several other good things, caps, tabs, insigna and so on...

              I too have seen SS tabs with this style of runes offered on dealers websites and they described it as an early LAH tab.

              Unfortunately I can not comment on wether you're tab is good or not as this piece falls outside of my collecting interest.

                One rune seems thinner than the other, are they not normally quite uniform in construction ??

                  That is the early hand embroidered tab, due of that it could be a bit different in the shape

                    The thin part is on both runes 5 mm, the thick part is 10 mm on both.

                      I'm not keen on the wool or the embroidery. The wool seems too easily frayed. Most period wool is finer, IMO. Even if the RZM tag is good, doesn't mean the tab is. I've seen similar backing on SA tabs, but don't remember seeing it on SS tabs.
