I saw them in California , I think it was 6 or 7 , he let me play with them all day !!!
I was ..like .."I like this one better than that one "
    He He good stuff .
But I liked getting the loan of the Combi for the day !!!
that was great , but one thing comes out from touching rare items , it gives you the up close and personal that is second to none , holding items in your hand really is the best education along with an old timer relating stories of the hunt ...its the way to learn for sure .

That puts the "advanced" in the term "advanced collector".

                        SS camo cap.

Thanks guys for all the added comments and pictures!
I could never hope to add some of those pieces to my small effort of a collection.
As for the cap with the insignia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nobody's categorically criticised the one on e-stand but pictures speak louder than words.
As for three face veils - how many does one guy need? Oh lucky man!
When I started collecting back at the end of the 60's (that collection went in 1984 ish - but the bug bit again) it was always the camo that did it for me.
                        Thanks again,
                        Grossfuss

There is the killer cap rust that can creep up fellas !!!!

And that looks like the way I also saw the veils , If I remember correctly JB once bought a mint condition 44 dot tunic of a guy and after owning it for several years got to play with it a bit better .
In the top pocket was ...........a veil !!!!
                          True story .
But lets not forget another member here who during the opening days of ebay bought a SS helmet and tucked into the liner was a helmet cover ,you just never know when something will come along .
Sadly no pix of the cap hoard , to busy hunting to scare the old man into putting everything back into his dirty old suitcases and talking about his dogs ......

When Im back from Afghanistan, I can assist with picture of my caps, not a hoard but a few.

The veils are stunning, would love to have one in my collection.
                            Best regards, Tom

HINT: A touch of vaseline carefully applied with a q-tip will dramatically reduce the rusting process and help preserve the artifact. However, this must be maintained.

                              Cheers,

                              Asper
