A Couple of Ehrenwinkels / Old Fighters Chevrons - Opinions Please

Had these two Chevrons thrown back and pulled them out before we moved.

One has green backing and one has white, both aluminum flat wire. I always considered them unissued Ehrenwinkels.

Was the white backed one used for summer white uniform or drill tunics?

Indeed, they are unissued Ehrenwinkels. And very nice at that!

As I am to understand it, the white backed example is for the summer tunic.

I would love to add these to my own Ehrenwinkel collection

I believe the green backed chevron is Police, while the other is summer white for SS.

I had not considered police, thanks. I had assumed the color was associated with use of bottle green on earlier tunics.

I also think that the green Old fighters chevron was for the green/grey uniforms in general, police or not.

As has been stated, green is for Police, white for the summer uniform. Nice examples!

Can anyone recommend a dealer or collector who has a tunic-removed Black Ehrenwinkel for the Allgemeine-SS/Waffen-SS uniform? I've been looking for one for some time now with no luck.

I stand corrected by Felix and Robert then, I have never seen one on green backing on any SS uniform, only police...but I don't get around much either.
