Hi,
Just a comment about the Der Fuhrer connection you mention in the first post. This rumour started with a item that was imported to Norway from Germany many years ago (long after 1945 though). This was claimed to be a GSSN used and where then restored to GSSN pattern. Other than this I do not believe you will find many other GSSN items with a Der Fuhrer label. IMO the Der Fuhrer connection is highly questionable. The only documentation about GSSN is, as you mention, that they got the clothing from the German SS. At the time GSSN was to use black uniforms the German SS had long time ago stopped the use and the black items was in storage for use after the war. Based on the Himmler/Lie connection and the “marketing” issue we must assume that the items that were sent to GSSN was in mint or very good condition as they both wanted this unit to be a showroom example of the ss personality.
Nice coat and a very rare one as well. Not many GSSN uniforms survived the war. BTW how do you know it is untouched? Do you have documentation/pictures of the person that used it during the war?
