      Tabs

Reproductions. Embroidery is awful, backing is incorrect. Once again, use the Search function.

Thanks C Betz, doesn't surprise me. I have been using the search option, so many to look at, get confused and become Tab Blind !!! Thanks

I respect that you are trying to learn as much as you can and are searching the old threads; they are a great source of information. However, as your comments suggest, it can be a lot to try to process. The old saying that it is like drinking from a fire hose is applicable. I suggest that you pick a particular area (EM embroidered tabs, BeVo skulls, whatever is of greatest interest to you) and focus on that for a while, learning as much as you possibly can about those pieces, until you can spot real from fake easily and know the subtle details and differences among the variations.

I know it is tempting to try to learn as much about everything that interests you right away, but you will end up missing many of the finer points. You will be able to identify the poorer fakes, but the better ones will still fool you. It is better (and less risky/costly) to know a lot about a little than a little about a lot. Once you have mastered a small area of interest, move on to another. I think you will find it more rewading in the long run, particularly by avoiding costly mistakes.

Fantastic, I agree, that´s absolutely the Point! It is definately a fact that it will be impossible to know all and everything and FAST..

                Brad,

Words of wisdom as always, you are always right, I appreciate your advice, and I mean that sincerely.
My main interest is the SS Panzer Divisions. My grandfather fought with an Anti-Tank Regiment in WW2, the 71st Anti-Tank Reg, 53rd Welch Infantry Division, and came up against the 2nd panzer Division in Normandy from what I have read in the War Diaries. I think I will save up and buy a genuine Panzer Wrap with all the trimmings from a reputable dealer and then be done with it.

Here they are in Krefeld near Hamburg in 1945. The regiment was later disbanded after suffering heavy losses.

Before doing this you might want to study panzer wraps before jumping right into them. With all the bad stuff you post on this forum looking for advice on, it would be highly encouraged to know what you are looking at and nothing is more tough to judge from pics then a black wrap. There are many pages on wraps just use the search function to study known originals.

Also remember, Just because you buy something from a dealer doesn't mean it's a good piece.

                  Good luck
