Hi, bought this AS A REPRO, but would love a surprise.....it is heavier and thicker than any other repro I have seen.

"Heavier" is not an adjective I associate with originals in comparison to most fakes. In fact, quite to the contrary. As originals were all made of feather-light materials, the heavier a piece of metal cap insignia is, the further from originals it is. In simple terms, "heavy" = "fake."

Yes...this is actually a style sold by Reddek (spelling?) some years back, maybe others sold it as well, but this was one of the ones that they sold.

Thanks to all - esp bwanek1 - something for me to keep in mind!! Never thought about weight that way! Good to know the maker as well.

Again no harm no foul since it cost me 5 bucks !!!!!!! Still would have preferred a 5 buck original though
