    SS Tab, 89th Foot

This doesn’t react to UV, not does the paper on the back. It appears to be rather well done albeit unpiped. The lack of piping ‘could’ be explained were it sitting in a tailor shop waiting for the customer to instruct as to officer or enlisted piping but that’s speculation. I’m interested in any thoughts on the subject.

    Thanx in advance, Rick

At first glance, appears good. Could you post pictures of the reverse?

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

                Thanx guys!

This came in with a bunch of stuff (some not very good) but, I was 'hopeful' on this so I'm happy I have another item for my small SS collection.

I was honestly concerned over the lack of piping as well as my lack of knowledge on the damn tags often on these things. Needless to say, I've allot to learn the the SS arena.

Thanx again for the thumbs up. RC

This I show is one example from 1937 (silk tag) 68 instead of 89, I have another example with 3 digit numbers for the Fussstandarten number and it has a paper D tag that is below the revers folding line from the black cloth. See also the difference or the embroidery. But even when I mention this your tab is as I said before original. There are enough variation differences out for bullion material, thickness of the thread, stitching lines and stitching threat numbers.

Definitely the skill level of embroidery one would expect on such a tab...congratulations!

Very nice original tab! This is how it is supposed to look. All is there.

Robert! Nice "Regensburg" tab! I have its twin!

                      cheers,
                      Felix
