Thanks everyone for your help so far. I am going to start a new thread with a number of pictures.

Why not just post them here?

Here is my M42, which has no insignia and could also have been SS. The liner is olive brown.

It could be the lighting on Geoff's tunic, but in answer to his question about "brown" liners, they definately made them.

Nick, good eyes on the rectangular cuffs. Do they they have an angle cut when laid out flat?

      regards, Robert

I tried to take them under artificial light, like the tunic being discussed. I hopefully didn't make things worse!

Last photo is without a flash.

The cuff stiching as Nick points out does have that very square appearance associated with Janke tunics.

Id disagree however that "squared" cuffs automatically indicate repro as study of period photos show a variation in styles. Some were tapered and some were rectangular but certainly not as blocky as the first pictured example.

I know this is a woolen tunic but the majority of HBT tunics of the M42 pattern i have encountered have rectangular not tapered cuffs.

Something wrong with the Croatian tunic, at least wrong length belt support tongues, with wrong count of the holes ( must be 4)
The liner is too fresh and I feel something wrong with the rayon itself. It's isn't look like a original " heavy" cloth to me
