    M43 SS tunic lining question

I discovered an SS m43 tunic which looks to be an original item. My concern however is that the rayon lining is a brown colour instead of the silver/grey which I have seen before. Has anyone else every seen this?

    Thanks,

    Geoff

          Thanks Merdock,

That looks the same. I am trying to post photos but it doesn't seem to want to let me.

            Pics

Here is the tunic in question. I'll get some much better pics up tonight with detailed close ups.

The tunic has the Croatian shield hand stiched above a Cpls rank. The matching collar tabs and sleeve eagle where in the pocket of the tunic.

            Any thoughts?

Tunic looks like it could be an original M42, though with the three support hook holes most likely is a stripped army one. Any sign of a breast eagle and long collar patch "shadows"?

I'd say the sleeve chevron is post war, based on the fold at the bottom of the "V" and the elongated tress diamonds (at least that's what it looks like from the pics).

                  Hi,
Unless it's the photos? the colour looks deeper and darker and rather new?

I should of held off on the pics until I took some better ones. I'll get some good pics up and see what you guys think. I mostly collect Canadian militaria so am not up to speed on all things German.

                    Thanks for your help,

                    Geoff

By pictures posted I would say the tunic itself is not original but I am waiting for more detailed to give you my last word, insignia is bad IMO.

As stated above... fake tunic. Bad to the bone. Repro lining find in some dot fake tunics and trousers also...

Better pictures will help, but there is nothing wrong with the shade of this liner. I will post an original tunic liner made from what I believe is the same grey-green liner material.

However, I don't know if it is an original SS one as opposed to a stripped Army one.

                            regards, Robert

The tunic is not a SS pattern M43...as the thread title reads...
its actually a Heer pattern (6 button) M42 with pointed pocket flaps... (M43 = straight flaps)
and it is also appears to be a repro I'm afraid.....

Note the rectangular sleeve slit stitching (as opposed to the correct tapered style!) I dead-give-away for repros.....

Not outside of the realm of possible combinations, a 6 button heer M42 with SS foreign volunteer insignia (see my Handschar MP impression thread)
but unfortunately this is not the real McCoy as far as I can tell.... (insignia is OK)
