I'm far from a visor expert. I'm still learning here, but if I remember correctly. NTZ always points out in several of his great dissecting posting. Visor seams should line up correctly. I don’t see that here?

Paul, your intentions are good and appreciated but your graphics are not accurate.

It is difficult to praise or fault this hat without actually seeing it. Hence the fallacy of commenting on something as complicated as a visor hat from photos on the forum, especially something as commonly faked as an SS visor hat.

Maybe that is why the "Chicago" comments are lacking. Besides, I think Pete is through with giving opinions...

But you know it won't be long before a shady item pops up, that will be defended by good ole Petey. It's just that in this case Pete's finger prints aren't on this one.

Tom I agree a hands on will show everything, but that side liner has surely been messed with. Anyone who knows about Pekuro caps will surely say the same. I would love to see a 360 view of behind that SB. Either way we will never know because the original poster decided not to come back.

Another good point to future posters: If you post an item looking for opinions and you in return receive an opinion at least say "thank you".

Please do not take this comment in the wrong way, as it is only being offered constructively . . .

Review the first reply received about this cap - post #4.

IMO, this post is completely void of any objectivity, and if nothing else, slightly antagonistic, and negatively insinuitive. One could almost say, "the stage has now been set" at this point in the discussion . . .

Then everyone does very well in posts #5 through #12 - much discussion with very valid and objective comments . . . almost eliminating the insufficiently negative overtone setforth from the very first reply (see post #4 again) . . .

And then the discussion takes a crash course away from any form of constructive objectivity in post #12 . . . for most anyone, the insinuitive overtone offered in this post would completely kill the enthusiasm to continue to participating in what we hope would have been an objective discussion - one that is conducted in a format that offers some sense of common courtesy amongst those that might share a colloquial level of mutual interest here.

Personally, I don't think I would be inclined to say "Thanks" for either of these replies . . .

And if I were the fellow inquiring about this cap, after seeing this response, I might be inclined not to reply to any further requests for additional photos as well . . . as we all know the reputation of discussion in this forum, and how it can so easily get carried away with inappropriate conjecture like this at times. Maybe a stronger level of objectivity could be maintained here at times . . . ? It does wonders on one of the other forums . . .

Personnaly, I think the point raised in post #12 was a valid one. The discussion had already died due to lack of enthusiasm. Kreager was merely pointing out that fact. Many interesting items such as this cap hardly get a mention whilst others get pages and pages of nonsense written about them. But there you go.

Back to the cap. I believe it's in the process of being purchased. Hopefully the new owner can show us more details of it soon.

Sorry you feel that way Mr. Weyth. But at least an acknowledgment from the original poster would be fair, even if he/she doesn't agree with the views of others.

On a side note, I hope the new owner shares his new item with us.

                      Odd comment, Ben.

You thank the lord that one less collector will share knowledge and opinions on this forum? Or maybe you already know everything and have nothing to learn? I for one appreciate all that I can learn from this forum, no matter from whom it is imparted. Yes, Pete has some "skeletons in his closet", but I doubt there are any real angels in this hobby. And if you don't think Pete has years of knowledge that could be shared, you are sadly mistaken. But then again, you don't need to learn anything from Pete, so thank the Lord indeed!

                        Hi Tom,
Nothing or no one will prevent me from posting on WAF. I haven't posted on this one because I do not find this hat all that interesting. I do like the outward appearance however. The way the lining is stitched down on the inside is a concern. That alone would prevent me from owning this cap.

Just mentioning a certain person brings out the "Odd" side of my personality.

You didn't have the same problem with the white top cap though did you? In fact, you defended it over and over again. But without ever handling this particular cap, you've just dismissed it in one single post.

                          ------------------

Tom, if you really want to know why I'm not too fond of Manzie, it's because he's riddled with contradictions like this. It happens everytime he starts typing. It's got nothing to do with the "skeletons in his closet" I really don't care about any of that.
What I care about is the advice given out on a public forum. It should not be totaly biased towards items that have some connection with the poster and careless dismissiveness of items that do not.

I didn't want to go into this on this thread but you asked the question and I've answered honestly. As for upseting Peter with my remarks, it's never going to happen. His skin is as thick as a rhino's bottom. More members here have disagreed with him than I care to remember but nothing ever sinks in.
