If you want an honest, straight dealer in the North West you need look no further than ...

        http://www.mandtmilitaria.com/

You'll note the general lack of SS items ... perhaps reflecting the scarcity of genuine SS stuff here in the UK. British veterans were strictly forbidden from looting and if you were caught in possession of German relics you were liable to a fine and loss of leave.

Correct, when my Grandfather came back from Europe, he said they were just about to enter Southampton, when the MPs made an announcement over the ships tannoy system that all troops would be searched. All the stuff went overboard so the MPs wouldnt get them.

My Stepfather (RN CPO) threw an Italian carbine and 2 cases of ammo he'd acquired on raiding parties in Southern Italy out of the porthole as they heard the same announcement as they came back into Chatham, all his mates were doing similar .... no search was carried out

              Hi,
Getting off the main thread - I apologise!
My big gripe in the IWM is the lack of decent lighting on the dot-camo clothed MG42 gunner!
The old boy who used to clean where I did my apprenticeship all those years ago told me the same story of the dress daggers he lobbed over he side of a troopship!
Back on the original topic, Totenhead - good luck with your collecting!
              Regards,
              Grossfuss
