    155/36 eagle

    Got this in a group. it is cupal, but do any members have similar piece with the same pin attachment. both me and Brad seem to agree the pins looks special. I had never seen anything like that before.

      Hi SS Gentleman,
      IMO it´s not Cupal = Copper and Aluminium gewalzt. I don´t see the Copper on the back

          Thank you for your input. the grim and wash at the front makes me wonder it should be a cupal. I am hopeless on birds

                        Yes. Because of those pins, at first look, I thought this might be a Zimmermann. Early CupAl Assmann eagles are quite rare, so I have not seen many. However, of those I have seen, none had pins like these; they all had flat pins soldered directly to the eagle. This could be a variation or the pins could be replacements.

                          it might be a variation. so it's a cupal eh i can't find any faults with the pins. if any members have this version, please post. Thank you for viewing

                            Anything is possible when it comes to prongs, but I see no reason to assume that the prongs are not original and proper.
                            It is certainly not unusual to see a new prong variation.
                            They used so many different methods for most eagles and skulls.
                            The aging on the prongs matches the eagle well.
                            Anyway, they appear natural to me and it is certainly a nice, original eagle.
