W.SS Camo Panzer Wrap Insignia

    W.SS Camo Panzer Wrap Insignia

    Hi,
    I've got a few questions about the insignia worn on W.SS Camo Panzer Wraps.
    1. Were the special Heer/ SS camo rank insignia worn on camo Panzer wraps?
    2. Were sleeve eagles and collar tabs applied to camo Panzer wraps?
    3. Were the camo Panzer wraps suppose to be worn over the regular black Panzer wraps?

      1. Possibly on later issued pieces that had no shoulder board loops but usually not.

      2. Yes, the eagles were in most cases factory applied and tabs were added because of personal taste although adding tabs happened to a very limited degree and was against the regulations. Later wrappers had no insignia whatsoever when issued.

              IMO a Heer guy in the second picture wears a fieldgrey wrap, not camo

                    A standard grey wrapper that he walked through the rain with (or similar). The small dots all over were caused by water IMO.

                        As for the second, it looks like blurred edge to me too. The trousers are a match as well

                          It is neither blurred edge, nor oak, nor dot....

                          Blurred edge is a pattern that was a evolution of the lateral pattern and that means it has a lateral flow and not a vertical such as dot.

                          To me that is a grey set with some funny dots which IMO are just water.

                          Naturally I can understand that the idea of an blurred edge set worn by an army soldier is appealing.

                              Do you think he would have dropped his pants and left the wrapper on? It seems to be a relaxed situation perhaps someone made a joke with a garden hose or whatever.

                              Just because of some dark splotches that don't match any standard camo pattern we are all supposed to believe now that this is a (very rare) blurred edge set worn by an army soldier?

                              We can make that easier, show us the camo pattern that you can see here then we'll compare the pattern and if we find a positive match I will be convinced.

                              But perhaps this is a mega rare prototype pattern? Making this picture even more valuable.
