Begleitkommando.....

Was there a unique collar tab, armband or other identifying insignia for the Begleitkommando - SS?

If so, and anyone has any examples, I'd love to see them.

No unique insignia for BegleitKommando to my knowledge. The only unit identifier
would be an indication in their soldbuch. I guess its an assignment and the unit would
remain LAH, so their dogtags (Erkennungsmarke) would be LAH stamped + LAH cufftitle of course.

The LAH was the parent unit of the SS-Begleitkommando. I am not sure what year members started to wear the Adolf Hitler cuffband but the original eight members of the BK were selected from various SS Standarten and presented to Hitler at the Kaiserhof Hotel by Sepp Dietrich and remained under Hitler's authority until the end of the war. As the unit grew, SSBK members were rotated from the LSSAH and many served front line duties with the Leibstandarte except for Gesche who originally served in the Division for a short period but was later transferred to Reichsfuhrer-SS when demoted and Darges who served with Wiking when he was asked to leave. Read "Hitler's Personal Security" by Peter Hoffmann, great book and info regarding the history of the SSBK and RSD.

Whose SS-Begleitkommando? The Boss's or Himmler's? I am not aware of any for Himmler's either.
