    Df Officers Board

    Hi All,

Not being a collector of Officers stuff I am no expert. This is one of a Pair of DF Officer Boards that I bought for about the price you would pay for a set of Inf Untersturmfuhrer Shoulder boards w/o cypher. Opinions please

    Cheers

      Hi Mark,

Can you show a picture of the back? Do the pins go through or are they built in? Is there a distinct impression and much less wear under the cyphers themselves?

I do not have a clear picture of a honest set in detail but yours seem slightly different from that shown in Beaver's first volume, page 334. But it is hard to say...

        Hi Mike,

The pins go all the way through, under the cyphers is clearly brighter, I initially compared these boards to those in Beavers book but his are not in enough close up detail. I have compared them to the set on the front cover of 'COMRADES TO THE END' by Otto Weidinger, assuming those are original the design is the same, of course if they are not then I am on questionable ground. The real problem is that there are no really good detailed photos of any of the VT - Regiment Cyphers aside from LAH. Hence my problem. I am not too concerned that the prongs go all the way through although it may be a red light to some, I am sure not every set of boards left the factory with cyphers applied, I may be wrong.

        Thanks

        Mark

The officer versions were made in two sizes both sizes of originals that I have seen resemble Garys
