          Thank You Arek
I just thought there would be more wear under the board, maybe
          some slight rubbing wear.
          Regards,
          Gary

This may be a silly question, but is there any way of telling if these are early, mid or late war shoulder boards?
            Thanks again for any help.
            Regards,
            Gary

I do not like the piping on these they look like current fakes.

I can agree on that the piping looks a bit odd, but wouldnt dismiss it straight off.

I remeber a few years back when I bought a lovely infantry piped WSS shoulder boards set from you Jpic. How I regred that I sold them!

I'm afraid I must cast my lot with John on these. The white waffenfarbe is not German WWII wool. The top braid looks removed from an original set of boards, but the base black wool looks too lumpy, and not rigid and smooth like it should be. Here is a set for comparison, although not in great detail.

It is usually safe to follow Johns advice concerning SS cloth, especially tunics and bullion sleeve eagles.

                          Felix I remember them.

Shoulder boards for my own viewpoint I stick with three basic pipings, smooth silky rayon, fuzzy felt like rayon and the braided cord.
