from the sleeve insigna I suppose this one was post war used ?
the variations for these late war jacket seems without limit!!!
yours is without button for the inside pocket and the bottom sleeve are simplified (mine too)
I have one (heer) without pocket inside and without internal suspender straps
Some other variations:
-one waist button instead of two
-pointed flap breast pocket
-flap breast pocket without button
-Pocket without flap (unfinished?)
-different degree of skeleton lining
-2 part back seam

If this is an originally applied printed ss eagle you sure have an amazing piece there,


there's not much information available on printed eagles applied, there's even up to nothing on photographic evidence...
but this one.... It's a long shot but it gets my thumbs up so far!!!!



in any case, my congrats on this awesome rare tunic....

so IMHO it's authentic ....

There are some nice construction/sewing details on Alexandre's piece that I associate with SS tunics, and look perfectly fine here, In my opinion, its an SS made piece, not Heer.

Bob Sevier wrote a good article many years ago which delineates the differences between the M44 and what he calls M45 Jacket, and believes some of these details account for the distinction being made.

I had that article years ago that Bob Sevier wrote on the M44 & the very last-ditch M45 jackets, & haven't been able to find it !! Seems like it was in Military Trader?, or The Military Advisor ?, or some other publication. Perhaps I gave it away, but should have made a copy of it, & would love to have a copy. Scott, do you still have that article ???

I found this cut-off late last year and meant to post it, but then we moved into a new house and it has taken me quite a while to dig it (and everything else) out.

Anyway, it appears to be a period-applied printed sleeve eagle. As you can see, it has the correct stitching and the eagle has become "one" with the tunic fabric in the same way a well-worn BeVo eagle does. The wear and discoloration appear consistent with actual use.

Of course, I can not be certain that it was not post-war applied and cleverly aged by artificial means. If that is the case, someone went to a lot of effort and expense just to sell it for less than the average unissued printed sleeve eagle goes for on the market.
