i counted seven strands.....i thought that was a good sign although i collect cuffs, i wouldnt know how to authenticate this one......

not sure, wonder why the oxidation is only on the skull and further the backing material is big sized. with a chemical mixture you can do this oxidation process in 1-2 days.

Personally.... I think it does have a chance, but best to wait for the experts.

If it helps it it still sewn together and for the most part all of the outer flatwire border shows a fairly even wear...... the owner told me about how the tunic was ratty, and he liked the cuff so he removed it. He does not collect TR stuff, but rather american patches. He had it mixed in a box of junk, some rifle bolt parts and other odds and ends but when i asked him about it he told me 200$ and i can have it.

please do not be sorry. I am very grateful that you And other members are kind enough to share their knowledge. Which in turn has saved me thousands of dollars in my TR hobby. Besides I am getting used to it. If I find it that means it is junk! ha ha.....its getting old but nothing I can do.......however I picked up an all matching k98 sniper this weekend, which rifles and optics are what I know about so I'm not too down.........

However the skull sure looked good to my untrained cuff title eyes!

I don't like the skull's shape or the oxidation, which looks induced. But for the experts who weighed in to give an immediate, my suspicions are pretty much confirmed.
