Help with ss cap and skull

    HEY GUYS

Picked this up today for real cheap, and was wondering if any could chime in on the originality. Im not good in this area, but feel confident because this insignia has been on there for along time. Any info would be helpful.

Nice originals. I would love to have that pouch just the way it is.

          Looks good to me.

          The skull's an Overhoff.

if you scrap the greens off, you might occasionally see a "M1/24" markings on the pins as well.

I would suggest not to scrap the green patina, just leave it as it is ....

                            Pouch

This green stuff is just a by-product of oxidation. Whether it encourages more oxidation is debatable. I would take a soft cotton cloth and just wipe off the excess. When you're done, there will still probably be some green stuff left behind, but it will be relegated to just the grooves. NO NOT USE ANY CLEANING COMPOUNDS OF ANY KIND, AND DO NOT POLISH!!!!! My suggestion applies to the early nickel fittings of daggers as well. The beauty of German nickel metalwork, is that softly wiping with a soft cloth removes the grimy film, and restores the natural beauty of the nickel. Yes, it will still look old.
