Well no, they are just plain stupid. A friend once had a EK II removed, fake they said, when he asked the reason why its fake (It was not, I belive he later sold it here on the Estand, it was just a standard no MM EK II) they just answered him it looked to new or something like that. If he wanted to sell it as original, he would need to get a certificate of authentency.

Refer to Charles Darwin: the fools fall by the wayside while the collectors who learn do prosper.

Darwin's "Origina of the Species" clearly unveiled his theory of 'survival of the fittest', which applies directly to collecting.

It is not the first time fake stuff is sold on Tradera.
I have seen a lot of bad stuff there over the years and also rather expensive items like fake SS tunics.

I am surprised that they did remove such an item as an Iron cross. Perhaps they got a complains from some one without knowledge.

Sweden is a strange country regarding many things. Taxes, alcohol, drugs and prostitution are a few areas that are holy cows. Despite it being one of the most politically correct countries in the world, there are still no bans for showing medals and insignias that has the swastika etc as long as you don't carry it in the street or use it in another propagandistic way. I know that there has been recommendations from the hosts of gun shows that vendors "should" hide the swastika with paper stickers in order to take on the role as volunteer moral police and hopefully avoid bad press.

Another positive thing about Sweden is that we still have no bans on small arms a la UK. Although I believe it is just a matter of time...

Another positive thing is that we have some nice girls, even though they are far too feministic. There is a reason why I prerfer their tender slavic sisters...

And not all Swedish girls are blond... Sorry for going off topic.

                Cheers,
                Felix

This SS ring is a fantasy, that SHOULD have been made during the TR, but nobody thought of it. A neat fantasy piece. Why don't you through ebay tell the seller this is a fantasy/fake? Maybe he'll take it down. Ha Ha.

Of course, Nazi symbols are not illegal here in the U.S. -- so why the stringent Ebay restrictions on the U.S. site?

Because it has nothing to do with Ebay and everything to do with U.S. political correctness.

Seems like Tradera/Ebay closed the auction down, i guess sometimes they do the right thing.

They saved some poor guy a lot of money

                          Agree, but,

I'm not sure if it is "political correctness" but more "political pressure" from certain groups that want to censure Nazi related material. Ebay IMHO does not give a damn about "correctness", they are just bowing to a powerful group(s).........which is not a problem when key owners/management are also members of group(s).

                          Jp

p.s. I can understand not allowing fakes and repros,(IMO, those can actually be viewed as promoting hate) but genuine historic items!?? come on, get a grip ebay!

                          p.s.s. Nice Swedish chicks.
