Nope, these pieces did exist and like said are very rare. Most everyone that you see for sale is fake.

They are called "Badge for SS Mess Dress."

Complete originals have red felt behind the skull's eyes, two screwback posts and a rectangular back plate.

I forgot about the one I saw that came on it's original general's tux, so that makes four I have seen. The other three that I have seen belonged to one person. He has had quite a bit of luck coming upon them, as they are almost always sold as fake. You just have to know what you are looking at. Including the one TGN posted that makes five...surely that's not half of them known in the US?
