nice colors, it shows the right amount of use. Patching zelts with whatever camo cloth they could find was common practice, It's a very nice zelt in a scarce pattern.
    Take good care of it

Yes, many zelts have tears in that area which gives access to the internal parts and to find the splinter fabric used there as a factory applied reinforcement is not uncommon.

Splinter fabric pieces were also used as patches for repairs in the field as was mentioned by member Krieg777.

And don't stand on your zelt!!

super BE zelt you have there and and early one as Fritz has pointed out. These are difficult to find and even more difficult to find earlier ones especially in this great condition.

Fritz - Large eyelets are zince but it looks like the small eyelets are Aluminium - if so this is the first time Ive seen a BE zelt with Al eyelets. Have you seen this before?

            Cheers

Yes, they must be transitional from the time when they switched over to zinc. I have also seen BE zelts with all eyelets in Al, but only very early ones of course.

It is even possible that the pictured zelt has some mixed eyelets where one part is zinc and the other aluminium.

                Cheers

Is there a factory stamp anywhere on this zelt - most BE zelts are devoid of stamps but would be interesting if this zelt has one.

                  Cheers

The zelt shows certain features that I have seen from one maker whose name is unknown to me. Some of the characteristics are the splinter material used for reinforcements and the double needle machine used for the large center seam. Would be interesting to put a name to these zelts. They've made other ss pattern zelts too.
