    Тhe ring SS West Wool

The ring found in the ground. This is a reward? or personal purchase a soldier?
    As often occurs.
    Thanks in advance

Private purchase ring. Really hasent anything to do with the SS, but is often sold as such. As I understood it these rings where avaible for all german soldiers who wished to purchase them, this example most probebly by a soldier who was stationed at the West Wall in 1939/40.

He of course means in positions (fox holes or trench) of SS soldiers on the battlefield.
He also means West Wall of course (not West Wool). Ring commemorating service along the French German border 39-40, before the real hostilities broke out when the Blitzkrieg started. Nice item!!
