    Hallo Andreas!

The word at the bottom is: Cherusker.

It refers to the german hero and his Volksstamm, the Cherusker, who fought and won the battle in the Teutoburger Wald near Detmold in the district of Lippe in Westphalia.
Therefore in the 19th century a remarkable monument had been realized by the immense personal input and effort of the artist Ernst von Bandel - the Hermannsdenkmal.

Together with the other relic of german history, the Externsteine , Heinrich Himmler together with local historians such as Wilhelm Teudt (who received merits and title of Professor via Hitler) and Mr. Oppermann decided that this region is of highest cultural importance and significance for the Deutsches Reich and the Germans as a whole and for the SS via it´s Ahnenerbe in particular.

An Externsteine-Stifung (foundation) was installed and together with the Ahnenerbe they organized and supervized archaeological excavation with the help of the RAD.
Especially Wiliguth (the designer of the Ehrenring) had an immense interest in the pre-christian background of the Externsteine - a very impressive relief at one side of the Externsteine bears the faöö of the Irminsul.

It was this archetype after which Karl Diebitsch designed in 1939 the Irminsul symbol for the Ahnenerbe and at the beginning page of their scientific publications mostly published in the Ahnenerbe publishing house.

The runic symbol next to "Cherusker" is the Lebensrune (life rune), same as visable on the youngsters shirt and on the pennant he is holding.

The runic symbol on the flag on the right side shows a Binderune of either the Odalrune and an Ingrune or the Odalrune and mountains in the back which would fit as a symbol of somekind of Bergjugend (mountain scouts).

Interestingly enough the other flags bear exactly the same symbols as visable on the tapestries manufactured by Richard Walther Darré´s Deutsches Heimatwerk - a limited company as part of his Reichsnährstand and in reality the most important organisation for spreading out the cultural and pagan ideas and objects and it´s design of furniture and inner decoration of the SS.

The Deutsches Heimatwerk as the promoter of a germanic and pagan life-style of their very own as it was Darré´s and Himmler´s goal so to speak.

This is some very informative Reading and explains the Symbols I wanted to know about very well
I thank you very much Thorsten

Interesting flags on that card, have never seen a "real" example.
Hermann (Arminius) statue photo is cool too, my favorite view is from
above showing him standing on the Roman 18th Legion eagle. Actual 9AD
lost Roman eagle was recovered years later, and returned to Rome.
Post Arminius, the German tribes lost big time, as depicted in the
Gladiator-2000 movie, which also featured some nice standards too.
