    IMO not original. Looks artificially aged.

      Looks like one of those "Pieces of History AZ" fakes...
      from the 1990's...
      They all looked like this with black material that frays easily
      and the Latvian one in this style also looked dirty like this,
      however its not artificially soiled, these are embroidered like this!
      (which explains the same color "dirty white" on front and back.

        The shield I think is close to how originals looks like, but I have always had trouble with cloth items, and been burnt a few times. The shield is on auction and there are allready a bid for 1000 danish kroner(Around 190 us dollars)

        Thanks for the opinions... and I will not take the chance with this one:-)
        But hope also to get some opinions from Danish SS collectors, that have experience with known originals.

          It's a good one IMHO but in poor condition considering it's unworn/unissued. These do come up with reasonable regularity but most dealers seem to want people to pay around $300-400 for them at present.

            IMHO - a nice original and salty Danish shield. A minty one just went on Ebay for about 160$( what a steal!), it will probably be more expensive in Europe.

              The least desirable of the danish shields.

              I would say if you only can get a Dachau-shield, at least by a nice example.
