    SS officer Sleeve eagle

    Hello fellow collectors!

    Im beeing offered one of these eagles. Its the lower eagle and you can also see the back side of this one. Most of the signs for an original officer sleeve eagle is there. Three types of bullion, correct 12, 3, 6 and 9 position highlights. The swaz also is very fat. However, it almost looks to perfect in the stitching. On the other hand its not 100 % symmetrical. You can go to German Daggers and see some nice threads with original ones to compare.

    Whats you opinions on this? Is the rzm tag good? Notice that both the above eagles have some similarities. You can see holes from stitching and the eagle has been sewn on.

    Any commets are wellcome!

    Thanks,

    Felix

    P.S. I hope Gary can help me post some photos? Please

                        ....

                        Thanks for the comments so far gents!

                        Yes I do like the look of them myself... But one can never be too careful. I would love more critical inputs as well All for the duty of the science of collecting...

                        Happy hunting fellows..

                            Here's a known fake that JohnPic79 sent to me for study compared to the one being offered to Felix. Jpic's is on the bottom and Felix's is on top. In looking at the pix, the first thing that stands out is the known fake has a one dimensional appearance to it. This becomes clearly evident when handling it in person. The swaz is actualy flat and so is the swaz wreath and the birds talons.

                              Gentlemen;

                              I have received a much, much clearer pic of the bird(s) in question. I've noticed that they were originally machine sewn to something and I find that quite perplexing. In hindsight, I would have to personally handle the bird to say yes or no to be sure. Based on the pic I received via e-mail, I would not purchase the bird.
                              Best regards,

                              Tony
