SS EM collar tabs

Hello guys,

A friend of my offered me these tabs. He is not a collector and the provenance seems very oke, but als always: buy the item not the..

On hands these ones gave a good feeling, there is also evidence of use and traces of former stiching. But since i'm mainly a helmet collector, this is not my field of expertise.

The material of the collar tabs seems to be rather a sort of doeskin than felt. Could that be an indication of originality?
