SS Oberfuhrer

What was the correspondant grade in the american chain of command for a SS-Oberfuhrer...he was like a major,captain, 1st seargent?

An SS-Oberfuhrer was between a Colonel and a General (a senior Colonel).

The rank of Oberfuhrer was unique to the SS. A "senior" colonel is about the closest that you could come. They wore the grey coat lapels of a general and two oak leaves on their collar tabs. I have read in some books that the rank was equivilent to a Brigadier General. A "regular" full colonel in the SS is the Standartenfuhrer, who wore one oak leaf on the tabs. A Lt. Colonel is a Obersturmbannfuhrer. They wore runes on one tab, and 4 pips and piping on the other.

And i beleive on the camo they had 2 oakleaves and 4 green bars.
