hey, this is not a political forum, but in my view if you are going to talk the talk then you have be prepared to walk the walk, so if you want to go around getting your jollies torturing prisoners and the like then don't complain if the same happens to you, man is inherently evil and bad things will always happen...in war you are either going to be a victim or the one creating the victims...

I'm soory, but nobody in Poland recognizes Dirlewanger as a victim of the post-war feud and injustice. Too many bad memories, and too many victims in Warsaw families.
But of course US know better Dirlewanger than citizens of Poland and Russia.
      Fine, I quite understand.
It is just as I have said.
Prosecute others for violation of the laws or war, then turn around and ignore them yourself when convenient for you.
So long as you have no problem admitting that is your view, we have nothing between us - But don't try to whitewash as if you are doing nothing wrong, or try to claim some sort of special status which entitles you to impose your views, and expect others to accept as legitimate without any comment.

I don't claim the USA as an innocent angel.
I personally think Lt Calley should have hung, along with at least 2 of his immediate superiors, for the outrages against humanity committed at My Lai in Vietnam.
As it happened, we ignored the rule of law when convenient for us, and these murderers turned into celebrities, and barely paid any price.
That is exactly the type of incidents that can happen when your mindset is followed.
1 set of rules for us, another set for them.

                    Hello Thorsten.

I'm certainly intrested in knowing about the awards.

I love the badge at the start of this thread.

                    Regards,
                    Chris.

                      Well,

I hoped that Ohlau would charm in again and would perhaps know if his polish murderers took them with them.

At least today his awards of cruelty and bravery against his enemies would gain far more money and interest than any other polish medal being awarded within WW2 - correct me if I might be wrong.

You are wrong. Unless of course you have a Virtuti Militari II Class stashed somewhere for a good price.
                        And its "chime", not "charm".
                        cheers

Thorsten, save your comments about brave Oskar and his badges for yourself. For mi it's not only digusting, it's really sick.

                            Hello Ohlau,

I just watch the market and it is definitely true that relics from the - you would probably judge them so - most sick (or sickest) persons gather highest interest and highest prices.

And it is true that one can easily find such "sick" persons and their actions among the polish people and soldiers as well - I just think about the pics I noticed when searching about the historical facts about what happened in BROMBERG for example as well all over Poland in the beginning of WW2, were "normal" polish people had fun by slaughtering (yes, in the real meaning of the word) and raping german inhabitants.

Apart from memorials in Poland remembering polish victims there is NO memorial in Poland remembering their own crimes against ANY Germans - please correct me if I am wrong.

But getting back: it is not hard to find out that Dirlewanger indeed lead his men right going with them or even most time in front of them through the fire of the enemy - that was quite unnormal among any military leaders in that time and his men noticed and honoured that, of course.

I do not think that such a behaviour can be called sick but brave.

Of course we are in common about the fact that Dirlewanger and his men were responsible for many disgusting and criminal actions, especially in Warschau 1944, I think I already stated so in my comments.
