        Fake SS Tunic

These pictures just further prove what has already been said... Fake. Many museums are full of fakes.

It has all of the characteristics of a Pirschen, made in Hong Kong - retailed for about $65 until Hessen Antiques got an exclusive contract with them to sell their tunics in the US. Their earlier stuff (about 3 years ago) had the "Arthur Huck" tailor labels, but since that label is now such a well-known fake, they stopped using it. Pirschen style acetate liner and as already mentioned, the rubber stamp is ludicrous. Shoulder boards look like West German stuff, and the eagle is silly even for a repro.

Look very closely at the seams under the pocket flaps, and you will likely find modern interfacing sticking out. Actually, for the price, Pirschen stuff wasn't that bad for reenacting - but was not really intended by the maker to fool anybody.
