I remember this tunic and actually inspected it when he first had it...the insignias on the collar were not sewn down at the time completely. I was of the opinion it was thrown together and could not tell if it was always SS or not. I think the boards were just loosely held on by a thread or two.

I want to add that if I remember right Tim had a meager investment in this piece...the value which seems to have gone up several thousands of dollars...if it were to sell for the price value of the insignias and the tunic it might sell faster..just a suggestion. No one can say for certain it was a tunic worn by an SS officer during the war is my conclusion.

Thanks for your opinion John but I am not agree with you here.

This gabardin tunic has never had a heer eagle on it and the signs of the SS insignias are clearly visible.

Now the tunic is sold and the new owner will see what I mean.
        Thanks again.

I had marked the sale as on hold and asked do not remove until marked sold.
I really appreciate the speed of moderator to delete it, difficult to give opinions now.

I disagree Sir, I never wanted to do this but now you can see this tunic was worn only by an SS officer.

This tunic will be soon on E-stand again for sale, I will sell the insignias in a second moment so more opinions are always welcome.

..... and this is the reason why I asked to the moderator do not remove the sale until marked sold

It is re-opened for you with some deletions. It looks original to me.

Hello Luca, is the tunic fabric yellowed inside the pockets and under the arms in the armpit area?

There certainly is a large amount of fading to the uniform. Since most SS insignia were removed at the war's end, you usually don't see this much difference in the material under removed insignia.

Not saying anything about authenticity -- just that it is rather odd. Maybe someone restored it with a fake eagle and someone has since removed it.

update: I just looked at the for sale thread. Notice how little color difference there is in the material under the pulled down French cuff.

What does it look like under the shoulder boards?

Hello Sir, I respect your opinion but you are in the wrong way here and I am not agree with your statements.

At the same time I thank all the members who have contacted me about this tunic saying is 100% original.

Here a picture of the material under the pulled down French cuff.

                            Thanks again
