RUHL 13 i know how easy original honor rings get worn ( i have mine for more than 20 years and i was wearing it ocasionaly but now becourse of that soft silwer i stop ) but never on the inside, not like this one, you cant read the year or recipients name, not ewen Himmlers name and that i found to convinient ! But if pzb is happy with it its fine with me yust dont sale it here like original, i dont think that anyone without seeing it in person can be 100% that this ring is god, no way, it shud be send to mr. Boyle and only with his blesing the ring can be put for sale like original SS Honor ring here on this fine forum but hey, that only my opinion!

      Ring

With all due respect to Mr. Fish, you just CANNOT be sure of the authenticity of this ring with such minimal and poor photos. If I were a gambler, I would bet that it IS good, but that's not enough for such a major purchase. You can only see part of the Himmler signature, almost none of the date, and virtually none of the name. If it turned out to be fake, just TRY selling it once it's a known fake (see "Frank" ring). I don't think that's the case here, just giving sound advice. These fakers are getting better and better at the inside engraving aspect. They're also faking heavily-worn early style rings. The heavy wear is meant to hide detail that would expose it's authenticity, or lack thereof. Just lay the damn thing on a piece of white paper and take some closeups. If you refuse to go through Mr. Boyle, that's fine - just give us the photos to make a much better assessment.

The bottom line is you ever intend to sell the ring it will need a DB COA. Right or wrong,no one will spend big $$$$ without it.

And now someone will pay for this fakery 2000€ or more, comon guys that can be happening!!!! Based on what some of you recognise this ring as original, i woud realy like to know!
            The ring is original.

The solder weld behind the skull is typical. The engraving is typical Gahr workmanship. The original construction seam is where it should be.If the ring isn't sized properly to begin with,it moves around on the finger, and turns when someone uses their hand, creating wear. The seam at the back of the ring may not be from resizing and may have been a repaired break.

If you think it's fake, then let somebody else buy it.

You sound yust like Matthias Fritz, Vujic.

Agreed, but Don's Coa will definitively clear it up

Agreed regarding Don, I like the ring very much, and feel that it's original.

This is true, yet, at the same time, you have quite a few "heavy-hitters" saying it's right. Rather than get Don's opinion on it first, I would pull his NARA file, and the DAL's, and then send it to Don. The research will show him as a recipient of the ring, and might tell a little about what he did in the SS. It will also add to the value of the ring.

COA's are for people who haven't done their homework, imho, and really only useful for people trying to sell.

I don't put any stock in "Vujic's" posts, because he is Matthias Fritz, known crook and cheat. There's a dedicated thread on him, here: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...thias+Fritz%22

I think the recipient's name is "Urmoneit",and not "Urmoueit".PZB, could you check for us?

                            Ring

Though I feel that this ring is probably good, and have already said so, how anyone could make an unequivocal pronouncement with such poor photos is a mystery. Hell, no one even knows what the name is. But what is really irritating is when you have a forum that provides free analysis by some top experts, but the person who wants free expert input, either refuses, or is unable to provide the requested additional photos. The guys are going back and forth arguing about the item, and meanwhile - still NO MORE PHOTOS. So, why the mystery?

Simply 2 reasons, nr.1 I cannot provide better pics with my camera, nr2. I know that it'S ok, the persons who count for me said it is ok - so I will keep it.
It was just the chance for the others to get a ring at a resonable price. But now I am not interested in this discussion any more, as the ring will stay here.
                              Cheers

                                Ring

Have better photos been posted? Maybe I just didn't see some of them before. Maybe I'm just going insane. From the photos I just looked at, the ring looks fine. Someone tell me better pics were added at some point, and I'm not going crazy.
