    Panzer-Meyer´s swords (miniature-medalbar) surfaced?

This one has just surfaced at a local collector from Hagen, where Kurt Meyer was born and died.
The set was in the collectors hands since the late 50s. Could this be from "Panzer-Meyer"?

Could be, but I bet we'll never know for sure.

Do you know if he was awarded the 8-year-service?

Great - here are more pics. There is some scratch-writing on the back of the KC, looks like "Meyer":

Hmmm, hard if not impossible to tell.

Where do you read "Meyer" on the back of the Ritterkreuz?

Please verify since I do not really see any scratch-writing as you defined.

Hmm... Very interesting and of course it´s not impossible, it´s Meyer´s awards, as long as they are original of course. They sure look good.

Has anyone seen pictures of Meyer wearing this type of buttonhole setup?

This would be the holy grail - I have his book "Grenadiere" (signed by him), will have a look over the holidays.

Do you have an idea of their value? "Just" the set as it is, no matter who once owned them.

BTW, how many members of the Waffen-SS were awarded the swords?

What is a little bit confusing is that ( I think) he was awarded the swords during august 44 and became a POW in spetember 44, not sure he had time or a need to take care on miniature awards. And postwar I'd expect a denazified variant especially when keeping in mind when he was released from prison. I think there was no official denazified variant to any SS award though (such as for loyal service etc).

Anyways, good luck, it would be quite a nice item if legit.

He could not have known when he was taken POW, so maybee he ordered them (after he was arded the swords), and they were sent to his home. In the meantime he was captured, and the set just ended in a box or so. They look unworn to me.
