            The Ges Gesch Assmann has been polished/wire-brushed to remove the worst of the crud (and possibly a pin re-soldered ?), if you must buy ground-dug items accept them for what they are.

                Perhaps the word 'relic' is the most pertinant here. I always prefer the used items, salty being better than mint. Relic is another matter though.
