    LAH portrait: in the Beginning

    Gentlemen,

I think you will like this one! I only know of very few other portraits showing this Early LAH decal in wear.

    Enjoy,

Very nice portrait indeed...not too many of those around. These insignia were hand painted IMO. In my experience I have never seen an original decal in this style of insignia.

Thanks for posting. Here's one I used to own.

    Cheers,

Outstanding. I used to have a dozen of those helmets dangling in my backyard.... just kidding to have one helmet like that will cost me a bomb. think I saw the first photo before, and SSgentleman is pleased that you got it

The first picture posted , notice the shoulderboard , I would like a closer look at that one , notice early piping two black one white strands , and of course the helmet. Mr.Brode that is one fine very early LAH picture, thanks for sharing it .

Does anybody at this forum own a uniform like this?

I know I saw the helmet before in the hands of one guy with another next to him on the backside of the car..

In all the years i have collected I have never seen this pattern helmet, the collar tab I have seen only once (early pattern) the tunic itself maybe for the Allgemeine SS( with early piping ) a couple of times and the shoulder board not sure if I have ever seen it ? That early stuff is really hard to find. Even this detailed picture is a rare find.

I've had one or two early SA brownshirts with the non standard collar piping (2 black 1 white, I think also 3 black 1 white) which I assume would be the same stock used by the SS in this early period. Very unusual to find!

Erich , all these years and I never knew it was SA piping.

Thanks for the comments! Darryl, that one really is just amazing!

Did this pattern had the Tri-color on the left side?
