SS police runes

Hi experts.

Got these from an old collector.

I think the string is not old, but the runes have a chance to be good. Quiet salty and pretty hard, almost not bendable - with some remaining black backcovering. The runes are somewhat covered with a sort of white poriferous paint.

Are they good`?

That white is corrosion and in this condition I'm not sure value would be a whole lot different whether good or bad. I guess if you like ground dug stuff these might be for you, but the rune shape doesn't look to good to me. That's my 6 second glance opinion.

here, it seems that the white paint was just very loose - please see the spots, were it is already missing.

These are great items and hard to find in my opinion much less 5 bundled together!!

Maybe it's not "white paint" but oxidation of metal in thread? That would make more sense IMO. ..hard to see/tell from photo.
Just a thought.

No its no oxidation, because the runes are blank metall under it. And the paint can be removed easily, it is almost some kind of sand. These were never given out of the store. On the first pic of the bundle you can see these sandy parts of white color.
