Opinion on this SS M43?

Just received these pics from a guy who responded to an ad I run. I KNOW NOTHING about SS....never owned anything SS in 20 years of collecting. But I didn't want to pass on this before getting some input.

I would buy purely to sell, and if I could pass on a good deal to a fellow forum member I would. I'm just too out of my league on this kind of stuff.

Please bare with me. I don't do this a lot. But I'm afraid I have to ask the 2 taboo questions.....Is this real? And if so...what would be a fair price to offer to the seller?

I personally like it. Needs a hands on to confirm but definitely has
promise of being GOOD!! No way to tell when insignia was put on, before or after May 45.

The cap seems to be a nice original.
there is a trace of Rbnr?a trace of trapezoid behind the skull?
About the value,you have to add the price of skull+eagle+cap....around 1500 usd
