    dachau wooden box

    Dear all
Sorry if I´m using this forum, but as this item might be SS related,
I kindly ask you if anybody has seen a box like this before.
I received it today, it`s made out of wood (10x3 inches), and marked as follows..
May I ask you for your opinions? Best regards Stephan

looks to be recently painted, and is the wording "ALLAH " meant
to read Allach. I would not have much confidence in it

          Box

At least it doesn't say "Akbar".

Somewhere i like it, somewhere i don't, and they always say to me when you doubt don't take it, so IMO junk!

I agree it looks suspicious but with a little bit of creativity
it could be an office (documents) transportation box?

                ALLAH broken down =
AL = Aemter-Liste = Offices list of officials? (so documents?)
                Aemt = also "collective municipality"
LAH = we all know what that means!
Why fake something so obscure? administrative in nature... Who knows? I do like the wear (overall condition) of the box.

but as Allach is near Dachau (and LAH has nothing to do with Dachau) I guess that's what they wanted to fake and blew it with the spelling which happens all the time!

The case it self could be original, i do not know if it's german. But it appears as someone wanted to make some money by stamping in Allah (As said it's called Allach) and Dachau. This to perhaps make it look like a transport case for Allach Porcelain? This is a fantasy piece In my honest opinion.

Thanks for all comments and opinions. As it is still chilly in Europe, I could put it on fire. Hopefully next time I will come up with some better stuff, regards Stephan

why engraving the metal latch? stencil and spray paint would have been much easier.
The edges of the letter look too sharp, it's a recent addition.

                        Nothing to do with Allach.

I would have no interist in this box.

Could this the DR Strangeloves wheelchair shipping crate that I seen last week in Kentucky ?
It might have faint traces of pork in its corners ..........

The numbers and letters were stamped, probably one character at a time.

If the fakers wanted it to be an Allach porcelain box, why the extreme hardware? The bolts, hinges, etc. are way too much for a fragile and very lightwieght piece of delicate art. But, then again, if they did try to stamp out Allach instead of Allah......these fakers must've been dumb as rocks.

Maybe it was used by some one in the Handaschar to transport gold fillings to the safe in the Commandant's office, after afternoon prayers to Allah?
                              It's a fantasy peice IMHO.
